Importing and exporting data

Import policies, evidence, and tasks from external sources via CSV. Export your ReFresh data as CSV, PDF, or Excel for backup, analysis, or integration with other tools.

ReFresh supports CSV import for bulk data load using a strict template. Export happens through the Reports module (PDF and PPT). Bulk migration of legacy risk registers, historical incidents, or survey archives is not supported.

What you can import via CSV

The CSV template for each entity is provided in-product. Use the template exactly; ReFresh validates each row before import and flags any rows that fail validation.


How CSV import works

  1. Open the relevant page (Settings → Groups, Settings → Employees, or Risk Register).

  2. Click Import from CSV.

  3. Download the template.

  4. Fill the template with your data.

  5. Upload the filled template.

  6. Review the validation summary.

  7. Confirm to commit.

Rows that fail validation are flagged with an explanation; correct them and reupload.

What is not supported (today)

ReFresh does not currently support:

  • Bulk migration of legacy risk registers: existing risks must be entered through the standard CSV import or manually

  • Historical incident migration: prior incidents from an old system cannot be bulk-loaded

  • Survey archives: prior survey data cannot be imported

  • Direct database export: data is not exposed as a raw database dump

If you are migrating from a different platform, plan for a fresh start in ReFresh: use the CSV import for groups, employees, and current risks, and accept that historical detail stays in the old system for archival purposes.
