Reporting structure vs groups
ReFresh keeps two separate models of your organisation, and they do different jobs:
Reporting relationships (the Org Chart): the formal "who reports to whom". Each person has a primary (direct) reporting line, and can also have optional dotted-line relationships. Used for routing actions and notifications to the right manager, hierarchy-aware reporting, and cross-referencing during investigations and consultations.
Groups: the flexible working units used for compliance scope, data access, and group-level reporting. See Creating and managing groups.
A person can belong to many groups but has one primary reporting line. Both models are used together: the org chart for line-management routing, groups for compliance access.
Direct and dotted-line reporting
The org chart supports two kinds of reporting relationship:
Primary (direct) line: the person's main manager, the formal "who reports to whom".
Dotted-line relationships: optional matrix-style relationships alongside the primary line, for people who also report into a second manager, for example a project or functional lead.
Use dotted-line relationships to reflect matrix structures without disturbing the primary reporting line that drives routing.
Viewing the org chart
Open Settings → Org Chart. The chart starts at the top of your organisation and expands downward, showing people cards with each person's name, role, email, and number of direct reports. Use Expand All to show every level, the fullscreen toggle for a larger view, and the search bar to jump to a person by name or email.
Editing reporting relationships
Click Edit Reporting to change reporting lines. From there you can:
Set or change a person's manager
Remove a reporting line
Restructure direct reports
